Keep a few packs in the freezer ready for quick use. Filled with non toxic gel, the packs can be heated in a microwave or in hot water, or frozen for comfortable and convenient relief from a wide range of soft tissue injuries and complaints.

Each pack has instructions printed on it, which saves having to hunt for the instructions every time. These packs just couldn’t be easier to use.

To heat put the packs in the microwave (600W) for 30 seconds (60 seconds if heating from frozen), then if not hot enough, in 10 seconds further bursts. Alternatively immerse them for 4-10 minutes in boiling water that’s been taken off the heat (check correct temperature after 4 minutes and in 1 minute intervals afterwards until temperature is right). The packs are great for effective temporary relief of muscle tension, muscular discomfort or pain, back ache. menstrual cramps, sciatica and lumbago.

To cool, put the packs in the freezer for an hour. I generally keep them there, although sometimes take them out for 10 minutes before applying them. The packs are ideal for reducing swelling and bruising, relieving muscular discomfort from bruises and sprains and temporary relief from toothache and headaches.

It’s advisable to wrap the packs in cloth before applying directly to the skin. When frozen applications of the cold pack should be limited to about 20 minutes, then take a break before re-applying the pack.
